Problem Gambling
Awareness Training
An introductory training course is available in Problem Gambling
Awareness for any individual or organisation with an interest in
this issue. The course is currently delivered online using Ambition,
the Open College Network remote learning platform.
The course looks at types of gambling, impacts of problem gambling
on individuals, family and the wider community, ways to reduce or
stop gambling, and where to find help and support.
Learners can achieve CPDUK certification for continuing professional
development & a Level 1 certificate endorsed by OCN.
Addressing
Problem Gambling
As a progression route from introductory training, a four day training course is
now available for professionals in a supporting role, including counsellors,
community & youth workers, social and support workers, health & wellbeing
practitioners, sports club or gambling industry managers and others.
The content covers problem gambling signs, risk factors, prevention, treatment,
legislation, online gaming, gender-based patterns, and sports-related issues.
Learners engage in group tasks, reviewing resources, case studies, interventions,
and creating workplace-specific action plans.
Learners can gain an Open College Network endorsed certificate at Level 2
(4 units) and level 3 (2 units).
